CHOR Youth and Family Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides twenty-four hour residential treatment and community-based services to approximately 500 children, youth, and families each year. The agency offers two specialized residential programs for adolescent and young adult males with sexualized behaviors coupled with mental health issues. The Specialized Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) serves adolescent males ages 12-18 who are in need of intensive residential treatment for sexually offending and sexually reactive behaviors. The average length of stay in the Specialized RTF program is 12-15 months. The Transitional SRTF program serves adolescent and young adult males ages 14-20 who have successfully completed a prior treatment program for their sexual offenses. The primary focus of this program includes continued efforts with relapse prevention planning, continued family therapy addressing family dynamics needed for reunification, life skill development through experiential learning, and when appropriate, independent living skill development. The client's treatment will focus on community reintegration and more heightened intensity of community involvement.
