Kenneth E. "Kenny" Swallop Jr., employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Veteran of the United States Marine Corps,

Kenneth E. "Kenny" Swallop Jr., age 54, of New Salem, Pa., is now resting peacefully in the "Home of the Lord" on March 10, 2017 after a long struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Kenny made the decision that he was now ready to take the journey home. He will now join his father, Kenneth E. Swallop Sr., who passed away on February 20, 2016.

Kenny was born on January 30, 1963 in Connellsville, Pa., son of the late Kenneth "Ken" Swallop and his surviving mother Mary Lou (Cronin) Swallop.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents. Michael and Mary (Little) Cronin, Harry K. Swallop, Anna B. (O'Brien) Swallop McCabe; and step grand father, Raymond McCabe

Kenny graduated from Laurel Highlands High School, Class of 1981.

Kenny leaves behind to cherish and remember so many special moments and memories his beloved wife of 24 years Terie Lynn; holding Kenny forever in her heart is his beautiful gifted daughter, Kalynn Elizabeth, she was his "Pride and Joy"; also remembering Kenny is Kalynn's boyfriend Tim Hurst. Kenny is also survived by his loving mother, Mary Lou Swallop, who has so many precious memories of her son. Kenny will truly be missed by the family pet, "Bublee", as well as several special aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.

At the young age of 21, Kenny joined the United States Marine Corps serving three years and received an honorable discharge.

In 1988, Kenny began his employment with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and he worked there until the present time.

Kenny was an avid "Harley Davidson" rider and shared a special bond with other riders. His love for motorcycles, Harleys in particular, was indescribable. He loved to ride.

Kenny was a man with a huge heart and was always offering to help others.

He will be missed by so many. He will be forever remembered for his great sense of humor, his caring soul and his love for life.

May he rest in peace.

Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 2 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, March 16, 2017 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service. Pastor Ken Walls will officiate.

Military Rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.

Private mausoleum entombment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa
