Middleborough World War Two veterans to be honored at Veterans' Day parade

Middleboro Gazette - 10/19/2017

MIDDLEBORO - The Middleborough Veterans' Council will be honoring World War Two veterans on Veterans' Day, which this year falls on Saturday, November 11.

The question of how many World War Two veterans are currently residing in Middleborough was asked of Paul Provencher, the recently retired Middleborough Director of Veterans' Services. He believes that there are in excess of 50 of them within the community. The council asked him to reach out to the local residents, by all means possible, and invite all of those veterans to take an active part in being honored as the Grand Marshals for the 2017 Veterans' Day activities.

Paul would like everyone in town to look around them and help him find all these World War Two veterans. It does not matter if they're in assisted living or nursing homes in Middleborough. If the veterans of what is referred to as "The Greatest Generation" would like to be honored at the Middleborough Veterans' Day parade and ceremony please get in touch with Paul. He can be reached at 508 947 5941 or by email at pjpro2000@yahoo.com.

Transportation and assistance will be provided to the World War Two veterans that step up to be one of the Grand Marshals for the Veterans' Day events.
