BRIEF: Cam Jordan is sending 108-year-old World War II veteran to Super Bowl

The Advocate - 1/29/2018

Jan. 29--ORLANDO, Fla. -- Cam Jordan keeps giving back.

The Saints defensive end is sending Lawrence Brooks, a 108-year-old World War II veteran, to the Super Bowl. Jordan recently gave Brooks a pair of tickets for the game.

"It just made that much more sense that he had never been to a Super Bowl to give something to him," Jordan said. "As blessed as I am, I love that I can try and bless other people."

Jordan was the New Orleans nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award for his work in the community. He became aware of Brooks when he visited the Saints during the season.

Jordan said he would be in Minnesota during the week leading up to the Super Bowl, which will be played between the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots, but will not be attending the game itself. He refuses to go to one unless the Saints are playing in it.

The last fact is his only regret about the gift he's given Brooks.

"I really wanted to give him tickets and have the Saints be there," Jordan said. "I definitely saw that in our plans, but it is what it is. But again, everything he did way back in his younger days just to be able to say he's 108. He's still a huge Saints fan. That's love."
