BRIEF: Ceremony will recognize Vietnam Veterans

March 25--Vietnam Veterans will be recognized in a "welcome home ceremony" Wednesday the West Texas VA Health Care System says is long overdue.
The ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans Memorial, 9915 Wright Drive, in Midland. The public is invited to attend.
"The ceremony is part of a nationwide effort of Americans uniting to thank and honor Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice," a news release stated.
The commemoration recognizes all U.S. Armed Forces personnel with active duty service between November 1, 1955 to May 5, 1975 regardless of location of service. March 29 is the official recognition day so designated by The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017.
