DMHAS mental health facilities in CT report 161 COVID cases, 4 deaths

May 27--HARTFORD -- The state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services announced Tuesday that a total of 73 patients and 88 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
The agency reported Friday a fourth patient in one of the DMHAS inpatient psychiatric facilities died due to complications related to the coronavirus.
In all, 45 patients at two Middletown locations -- Connecticut Valley Hospital and 10 Whiting Forensic Hospital -- have recovered from the virus, according to a news release.
Sixty-nine of 86 staff members provided medical documents showing they recovered from their infections and are cleared to return to their duties, according to the release.
Connecticut Valley Hospital: Sixty-three patients, 44 staff
Whiting Forensic Hospital: Ten patients and 18 staff
Capitol Regional Mental Health Center: Three staff
Connecticut Mental Health Center: Nine staff
River Valley Services: Two staff
Southeast Mental Health Authority: Two staff
Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System: Seven staff
Western Connecticut Mental Health Network: Three staff
