Automatic Toilet Seat

This DIY Automatic Toilet Seat is designed for individuals who have lower or upper extremity disabilities. Materials need to complete the project:

  • A small 12 volt motor ( from an old led disco light)
  • A switch
  • Hot glue and gun
  • 12 volt power source
  • Wire

Optional Materials: 

  • Soldering Iron and solder

Step 1: Make the frame
The frame is easily made by referencing the picture. First, cut and bend the main piece that goes around the user’s neck. It should fit perfectly around the user’s neck. Adding the extender arm for the LED bar: cut a 4-inch piece of plastic and connect it to the main piece. The LED bar is a small 1-inch piece of plastic with four holes for four LEDs.

Step 2: Glue the speaker and LEDs on the main piece
For this step, please reference the picture to determine where to place the remaining items. The author also added a cork pad to the main around the neck piece for added comfort.
