CUSTOM ADAPTATION PURPOSE: To assist an individual with mobility disabilities in transferring from a scooter. The existing scooter armrests were altered so they can be moved forward to provide a point of support in front of the user during transfers and moved back at other times. The armrests are mounted on hollow square tubing, into which long slots, rather than single holes, were cut. The arms slide along the slot into the forward position for standing transfers and backward for standard use. TITLE: Scooter Handling. JOURNAL: TAD Journal. REF: Vol 22 no 2, Winter 2002: p 16-17.
