Dragger™ is a mouse emulator program designed to help individuals with upper extremity, neurological, or severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury manipulate the left, right and middle mouse buttons of a standard mouse or mouse emulator. Dragger can be used to enter mouse clicks by direct selection (often with an adaptive switch) and by holding the mouse pointer motionless which is commonly referred to as "dwell." This dwell selection function in Dragger is called AutoClick™. When enabled, AutoClick monitors the pointer and clicks the left mouse button when the pointer is brought to rest for the programmable dwell time as defined by the user. Using the Dragger toolbar, this single left click can be turned into a Double Click, Right Click, Middle Click, or Left, Right and Middle Drag.

The Dragger toolbar provides numerous assistive features including:

  • JitterBox™ - compensates for users who may have trouble holding the mouse pointer motionless for the duration of the dwell time.
  • Slide-out™ Launcher - allows the user to start or restart the Dragger toolbar using dwell.
  • Locking feature - locks toolbar buttons for repetitive operations.
  • AutoClick Rest - toggles AutoClick on and off to eliminate inadvertent mouse clicks.
  • HotZones™ - allows users to access Dragger toolbar buttons even when they are covered by full screen Windows applications (e.g., games). These HotZones are invisible rectangles with assigned Dragger functions positioned around the edges of the screen (audible tones will indicate when the mouse pointer moves in or out of a HotZone).
  • Dragger for Kids - reduces the Dragger toolbar to two essential buttons (i.e., AutoClick and left drag) while hiding infrequently used features and the configuration button. This reduced functionality mode is designed for children and those with cognitive disabilities.
