Western Springs holds Memorial Day parade

May 30—Military veterans, scouts, marchers and others came out on Memorial Day in Western Springs Monday to honor the sacrifices our nation's fallen members of the military have made.

Members of the Salt Creek Model A Ford Club drove their antique vehicles in the parade, the Lyons Township high school marching band played, members of the Western Springs Fire Department and their families rode on top of a fire truck and Parade Committee Chairman Chuck Bosko made remarks.

During a more solemn moment, U.S. Navy veteran and Bugles Across America member John Carson performed taps, bringing the crowd's attention back to the memory of those who did not return.
