The John F. Kennedy Community Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities Center is guided by a philosophy and principles that support those of the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health. During its more than twenty-five years of operation, the John F. Kennedy Center has developed a reputation as a caring, accessible agency that delivers high quality services guided by the recovery and resiliency model and evidenced-based practices. JFK strives to help all who seek service, either directly or through referral to the best alternative service. Services Offered: JFK's degreed, licensed and credentialed staff provides a continuum of mental health, intellectual disabilities and addictive behavior services to individuals of all ages and to their families. Accepts clients from all parts of Philadelphia. JFK specializes in outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. Various partial hospital programs include one for dual diagnosed MH/MR, MH/SA, Hispanic adults and the geriatric population. In addition, a dual diagnosis methadone treatment program is available. Offers a Social Rehabilitation program with a relaxed drop-in atmosphere. Mobile Emergency Team (MET) operates 24 hours, seven days a week, and is accessed through the Office of Mental Health delegate. An offshoot of the MET is the Crisis Specialist program. Staff are dispatched to assist in dealing with crises until formalized treatment is in place. JFK provides Targeted Case management and Residential Services.
